KIERAN LEONARD

Birdsong

Kieran Leonard (1990, England), 2nd year Fine artist at AUCB, has recently started to use sound as his main practise for making artwork. He has already performed live sound art performances, transforming his voice into crashing tides and haunting melodies accompanied by repetitive, hypnotic visuals. Kieran Leonard’s Birdsong comes from the idea of using the caged, exotic birds in Bournemouth’s Lower Gardens Aviary and manipulating their ‘songs’ by turning them into one harmonious orchestral sound played from the tops of the trees. The work deals with our manipulation of nature to compensate our own needs.
